ALL-DISTRICT 24-6A STANDOUT
Standing at 6’3” and weighing 184 you would think I was talking about a seasoned college player but I am not. Shae Suiaunoa is a standout sophomore QB from 24-6A Houston Clear Lake Falcons.
Being a four-sport letterman this kid is an athlete, I see why he is a hot topic among college coaches.
This is what he had to say after his Notre Dame unofficial visit:
“It was a pretty cool experience. It was beautiful,” said the class of 2019 recruit. “It was great. Everyone treated me great. They treated me like one of the players.
“I definitely want to play in front of that crowd. The tradition was crazy. It was a lot of fun.”
Suiaunoa doesn’t claim any favorites right now, but a Notre Dame offer would be “huge” for him. He wouldn’t mind following in the path of former linebacker great Manti Te’o, someone he looks up to.
“Te’o is someone I know and have seen,” said Suiaunoa. “I used to watch him all the time.
Ohio and Washington have been showing interest since the start of sophomore season. In terms of dream offers, Suiaunoa is hoping to hear more from two big-time West Coast schools.
Finishing up 3-7 overall and 2-5 in district play was not what the young QB had in mind but being in a highly talented district he had his hands full. Returning for the Clear Lake Falcons is a big physical and talented team with Suiaunoa leading the offensive side of the ball they hope to make it to the playoff and make a deep playoff run.
Strengths: Throws the long ball well, Good feet
Weaknesses: Struggles on timing routes, doesn’t let play develop
