Mustangs players get recognized

The Cypress Ranch co District champs 14-6A had many players to get recognized for noteworthy play this season.

Delor Johnson was named District MVP. The Southern University signee had an incredible season. He led the Mustangs in scoring and just about did it all. Extremely high motor that seems to increase as the game goes on. This young man will be a huge asset to the Jaguars and expected to be a stand out player in the SWAC in the coming years.

Branden Holt made 1st team All District. The high flying senior really shined this season literally cleaning up everything above the rim. Tremendous improvement from last season and upside is huge. The unsigned senior is still deciding where he plans to play his college ball. Will be an asset to any team.

Micheal Osborne Jr. made 2nd team All District. This young man led the team defensively and in many cases single handedly changed the pace of the game because of all the steals he caused. Osborne is still looking for the right fit in terms basketball and academics.

Shane Melcher and Ethan Mayes both made honorable mention. Both of these guards could light it up when given the opportunity. Both had big 3’s in the Mustangs final game against Vandergrift.
